#1, Kate Does Grad School

 Hello world!

My name is Kate. I am starting my M.Sc. this summer. This blog is more or less a selfish endeavour; I really just want to document my experiences and share my passions. I've had a few ventures into online writing before - a fashion blog in high school, the odd post on Medium that will likely be reposted here. But I want to start from scratch as grad school represents a new beginning for me and it only seems right that my writing should be on a new platform as well. 

So here I am. 

What should you expect here? To be honest, I'm not positive yet. I will definitely be talking a looooot about science, specifically biochemistry, microbiology and physiology. I will be sharing what kinds of experiences I get from grad school, and what to expect for someone going into it (really, someone who is in the position that I'm in right now). Maybe we'll get a sprinkle of my personal life here and there too, for no real reason other than the fact that I like talking about myself. Outside of school and science-related activities, I coach basketball, host a radio show, and work in the restaurant industry, so these are the kinds of things that might come up. 

With that, I'd better log off. My goal is one article every week, so I'll talk to you next Sunday.

Me llamo Kate. Estoy empezando mi maestría este verano. Este blog es más o menos un esfuerzo para mí; de verdad, yo quiero documentar mis experiencias y compartir mis pasiones. Yo he tenido algunas aventuras en blogs en línea - un blog de moda en la escuela secundaria, la publicación ocasional en Medium que se publicará aquí probablemente. Pero yo quiero empezar de cero porque la escuela de posgrado representa un nuevo comienzo y solo parece correcto que mis escritos también deberían estar en una nueva plataforma. 

Entonces que aquí estoy. 

Que deberías esperar? Honestamente, todavía no soy positiva. Definitivamente estaré hablando muuuucho sobre la ciencia, específicamente la bioquímica, la microbiología, y la fisiológica. Estaré compartiendo que tipos de experiencias yo obtendré de la escuela de posgrado, y que esperar de alguien la comenzando (de verdad, alguien que esta en la posición en la que estoy ahora mismo). Tal vez también conseguiremos una pizca de mi vida personal aquí y allá, por ninguna otra raison que el hecho  de que me gusta hablar de mí mismo. Afuera de la escuela y las actividades relacionadas con la ciencia, yo entreno baloncesto, albergo de una programa de radio, y trabajo en la industria de restaurantes, así que este es el tipo de cosas que puedan surgir. 

Con eso, mejor me desconecto. Mi objetivo es escribir un artículo cada semana, así que yo voy a hablar con usted el próximo domingo.
